What is a suicide survivor?
Alhamdulillah, Rabb al-‘Ālamīn (Praise is due only to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds). Allah is the creator, developer, and maintainer of all worlds. Allah didn’t just create individual creations; He created entire worlds. I would like to focus on the worlds that are relevant to us. I want to explain to everyone this world or experiment we’re currently in, in relation to Jannah and Jahannam (Paradise and Hell), which are more developed and sophisticated worlds than this current one.
“But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, “Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein.”
Jannah and Jahannam are conceivable
Now, both Jahannam and Jannah are very conceivable. There’s a common misunderstanding that Jannah is unimaginable, which is very false. There’s one hadith in which the Prophet explains that there are things in Jannah which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, or no mind has imagined, not that all of Jannah is like that. Jannah is very conceivable; it’s actually an extension of this world and more. It’s the world we live in but perfected; the evil is removed, and yes, more is added to it that we never imagined. In similitude, Jahannam is very conceivable.
Most of what is in Jannah and Jahannam is already created in this Dunya. This Dunya is a teaser for both other worlds. The evil in this Dunya is a childish version, so to speak, of the evil a person will experience in Jahannam. So when it comes to loneliness, Jahannam’s loneliness is x100 what we feel in this Dunya; it is real and excruciating loneliness. Similarly, the good in this Dunya is just a childish version of the main world, Jannah. When it comes to feeling connected to people, we will experience connectivity to people in its actual sense, which is roughly 100 times better and more real than what we experience in this Dunya, which offers a very limited trial of these goods.
Imaginations are from the worlds of Jannah and Jahannam
In point of fact, in this Dunya, you can say that there are two realms we experience: the realm of the physical world and the realm of ideas and imaginations. In the realm of the physical world, it’s what Allah allows us to experience from the elements of Jannah and Jahannam. However, our perception and understanding of Jannah and Jahannam go beyond that. Allah also put other elements of these worlds in our minds that we can imagine, although we cannot physically experience them here. Futuristic scenes depicted by AI images, scenes found only in movies and games, and superpowers are all created by Allah and enter this existence, and we perceive them and display them, etc.
Those images and superpowers we know are not part of this Dunya, so when Allah created those ideas and images, were they random or part of an actual world? And the answer, wallahu alam, is that they are part of an actual world, which is Jannah. These ideas and images in our heads are most likely passed down to us from Adam (AS), who was at one time in Jannah.
Summary
In summary, the relationship between this Dunya and the Akhirah, with both Jannah and Jahannam, is that this Dunya is a trial and experiment. It contains elements of both actual worlds: the elements of Jahannam such as pain, hurt, hunger, loneliness, etc., and Jannah such as love, happiness, fulfillment, and connectivity to people. However, these elements are never experienced to their full capacity in this Dunya. We only experience about 1% of what actually exists in the real worlds of Jannah and Jahannam on each point. Experiences in this Dunya taken from those worlds neither accurately reflect what’s in Jannah nor Jahannam, but they have elements of both that may remind you of both worlds and allow you to choose for yourself what to work for and look forward to. Additionally, they are experienced for a very short period of time. When you experience love or hunger, for example, since we’re not in Jannah or Jahannam, these experiences don’t last long. And what we experience in this Dunya is actually taken from the real worlds of Jannah and Jahannam.
Smell
I’ll start with simple examples and go from there, insha’Allah. When it comes to smell, in this Dunya, we experience good smells and bad ones too. In Jahannam, you will smell the worst smells on a higher scale. In Jannah, you will smell the best fragrances. Jannah does not only look perfect, but it also smells perfect.
Weather
When it comes to weather, we’ve felt nice weather, but we’ve also felt extreme heat or cold that interrupts our enjoyment. Well, in Jahannam, you will experience excruciating heat and cold that will freeze and burn you to death. In Jannah, the weather is perfect: neither too hot nor too cold. Just a perfect balance.
Food
When it comes to food, we’ve tasted really delicious meals, we’ve also tasted really bad foods and recognize rotten food or uncooked ones. We’ve also experienced feeling full as well as feeling empty and hungry. Some of our brothers and sisters feel more full and are blessed with experiencing more good food than bad, and others like our oppressed brothers and sisters in Gaza, Yemen, and elsewhere experience more bad food and hunger than good. Well, these experiences are all just teasers of Jannah and Jahannam. In Jahannam, a person will feel 100 times the hunger, and the nastiest foods ever without any khair. In Jannah, you never feel hunger or thirst. Whatever you eat is merely for pleasure. All the foods and beverages are complimentary. The fruits are always in season, always available. There is an endless supply of platters of juicy meat, each one more delicious than what you just previously ate. Jannah is full of rivers meandering through its markets, palaces and pavilions. rivers of opulent wine. Unlike its worldly counterpart, the wine of Jannah does not have a bad smell: it is pure and it is sealed with musk. It doesn’t give you a headache, make you vomit or make you lose your senses and dignity. You don’t have to cook or wash up after your meal. Whatever you wish for just appears in front of you. There are lavish buffets and endless arrays of delicious dining possibilities. With spectacular views, charming company, and every form of comfort and luxury imaginable, every meal is an exquisite experience.
